Repo man

I'm getting set up to make a repo man costume for Halloween. I'm kinda excited for this and I plan on setting up some pics to let you guys follow along. I've been working so I won't be able to work on it as much as I might like. What do you guys think of the idea?

Hey I have very small burn marks on my hand so I need a costume with gloves. Can you guys think of any good costumes with gloves. NO ARMOR.

Sorry for the break. Back and better than ever.

After my little burn I gave myself a while back I decided to take a break from blogging since I couldn't sew properly. Now that I'm fully healed I plan on getting everything back on track. Thanks again to everyone who follows my blog and who's kept with me all this time. I hope I'll make a great costume to show you guys soon.

Armor part 2

You guys have come up with a lot of different armor posting and frankly they've been pretty helpful. I'm going to try some different stuff and post my results. So today I'm going to try using sliced up pop cans and fire to actually blacksmith my way into a costume. If it's good I'll be sure to post pics, but I'm not taking them if it's bad. : ) Still be sure to post any ideas you have for armor or just general costume ideas.

Most of your comments so far would have me making armor. I've never actually made armor before so I'm not sure how it will hold out. So if any of you have good ideas for the armor leave a comment. I'm going to try a few things over the course of this week, but I'll only post things that worked for me with pics. I'm not going to waste your time with a hundred ways not to make armor. Especially when way #1 involves hammering popcans and using fishing wire.

So let me ask again. Any thoughts on making armor?

Video game character

My question for today is a simple one? If I was going to go as a video game character who should it be? I don't want anyone who would be overdone.

Small revision. I've played many games and like a lot of them. My favorite game is Chrono Trigger. I own every game system and have played all the major game recently. I also play the online game League of Legends. My main lol character is Amumu. I've literally played everything major so most characters are available.

Well I was watching the new Thor movie and it made me think about making a costume for one the avengers. I think making a costume for one of them would be difficult, but I think I might try it. If I was going to go as one of the avengers Thor would prob be the costume that I would have the most fun making. I've never tried armor before, but I have a good  idea for making them. What do you guys think? Thor costume or a different comic hero?

Naruto or One Piece

Since I got so many great costume ideas from the Pokemon post I figured I would use your help to narrow down my list completely. So here it goes. Out of those two animes, which both have a sizable character list, which one should I make a costume over? If you have any particular characters post them too. Both animes are overdone and most of the main characters are out because of the 50-60 other people who will go as them. So far the choice that I enjoy the most would be going as Whitebeard or Ace from One Piece or Zabuza from Naruto. Anyways let me know.

To all you mothers out there Happy Mothers day to you.

Just talking about characters.

Okay well for any con I would only want to go as characters from anime and manga that I know. SO if you can think of good characters from anime/manga to cosplay as I wouldn't mind as long as I watch the show beforehand. So here's a list of the animes and mangas that I've seen. 1/2 Prince, Bleach, Claymore, History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, Liar Game, Naruto, One Piece, Soul Eater, Yakitate Japan, Battle Royale, Death Note, Dragon Ball(include the z), Elfen Lied, Ichigo 100%, Inuyasha, law of Ueki, Rurouni Kenshin, Yu-Gi-Oh, Yu Yu hakusho, Shaman King, Gurren Lagann, Evangelion, Pokemon, Trigun, Gintama, Mar, Monster Rancher,

Plus there are movies like Howl's Moving Castle and actual movie characters that I could go as.

and most videogames. I've played most everything video game related that you would want to use for a costume. I was considering going as a Chrono Trigger character or a character from League of legends.

Plus there are always comic book characters that I could go as.

As you can see I have a long picking process ahead of me that I hope my blogger community can help me with. Please comment with any character that you think I should go as. I might put them into tiers and have people vote on their favorite. I don't know yet. Thanks.

Hey guys I'm going to start preparing for next years Sakura-con and need help figuring out what costume I should use next year. I'm making a list of animes and games I've seen since I don't want to go as anyone who I don't know. Any suggestions so far on who I should go as. If I finish my first costume before Halloween I'll be making 2 more for the con. (1 costume for each day) Also I'll be walking you through every step of making my costumes. If you're interested.

My hero of time Costume.

Hey guys. This is my full costume without sword and shield. I hope you guys like it. I made the entire costume in less than one day and I hope you guys like it. I basically winged the entire tunic and I kinda wished that it came out better then it did. The tunic took the most time out of everything with about two hours total making time. For the undershirt and pants I just used a white long sleeved shirt and white leggings respectfully.
Now about the next couple of posts on my blog they will be about what costume I should start making for the next convention that I visit. I hope I get some good responses. Thanks.

Also I wanted to know what you guys think of my completed project and what do you think I could have done to improve it.

and now the boots.

I made a simple boot over for my hero of past boots. They both took me about 20 mins to make and I was stressed on time or I would have made them better. What do you guys think.

A little more info in how I made the boots.

I made them by placing my shoe on the center of a piece of fabric and folding the fabric upwards to cover the base. Think of it like trying to wrap a cereal box with the longer piece aimed upwards.  Then fold upwards to try and make sure that you have enough room. after that I pinned the fabric together and cut off the excess fabric. Then I removed the shoe and turned the fabric inside out so that it wouldn't look horrible afterwords. Then I sewed it together remembering to leave enough fabric there so that I could put the shoes back in. when you sew the back end of the shoe make sure to keep it tight so that the shoes don't slip out during running. I wish I had pics of the process so the next time I do something like this I can better show everyone. I hope this helps you with your own projects.

My hero of time hat.

Well I figured the first thing to show you everyone would be my hat. I made this hat in about 10 mins using my sewing machine and a bit of help by a friend of mine.

Then when I finally made it back home I decided to make a smaller hat for my L plushi. He normally rides in my car, but I figured everyone wouldn't mind if he took a little time out of my car to show himself to you guys.
I was wondering what you guys think of my hats?

Finishing up with the con and trying to start something new.

Well this years Sakura-con is finally over and I'm starting this blog to help streamline my cosplay for next year. I'm new to the whole sewing business and haven't made many objects so while I'm working on those I plan on showing you all my work and hopefully you guys will help me improve my work. Well here goes nothing. : )
